Swedish Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist and his Danish counterpart Peter Christensen signed on Thursday an enhanced bilateral agreement on military cooperation between the two countries, Swedish Defense Ministry said in a statement.

STOCKHOLM (Sputnik) — According to the statement, the agreement enables the territories of the parties to be used in peacetime for training and exercises and boosts exchange of information between the two countries.

Sweden already had a similar accord with its another neighboring country — Finland.

"With this new framework for expanded defence cooperation, the next step for the Swedish and Danish Armed Forces will be to examine conditions for concrete operational cooperation," the statement said.
