    Ukraine's president offered to deploy the EU’s special peacekeeping mission to Donbass for the time of the elections in the region.

    KIEV (Sputnik) — Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko proposed the deployment of a special EU peacekeeping mission to ensure order and security during elections in Ukraine's eastern Donbass region, the president's press service said Wednesday.

    "With a view to maintain order and security of the electoral process, the Ukrainian President offered to deploy the EU’s special peacekeeping mission in the framework of the Common Security and Defense Policy of the European Union," the press service said in a statement.
