MOSCOW (Sputnik) — In the last decade, 505 criminals, including murderers and violent offenders, were released in England and Wales because of the mistakes made by penitentiary system, the Sky News broadcaster reported, citing government statistics.
The broadcaster added that the number of people wrongly released last year stands at 48, with 41 released from jail and seven from court custody.
On Tuesday, the governor of the US state of Washington reported about early release of up to 3,200 prisoners from state's jails, because of mistakes over the past 13 years.
