An OSCE and JCCC inspection of an area of the Donbass under ceasefire was apparently fired upon by snipers from the Ukrainian side, thwarting an inspection of recent shelling, local media reported.

An OSCE observer team and members of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) came under sniper fire from Ukrainian security forces, deputy commander of the headquarters of the self-proclaimed Donbass People's Republic militia Eduard Basurin said on Sunday.

A source in the Donbass militia earlier said that Ukrainian forces fired at least 240 shells at the village Kominternovo on Friday, at the demarcation line in the south of the Donets Basin. On Saturday, Eduard Basurin said that Ukrainian forces fired upon Kominternovo 15 minutes after OSCE and JCCC representatives left the area.

"The delegation did not have time to work, so to say. We managed to inspect only two funnels," Basurin said.

Local media earlier  reported that the inspection team, which includes Basurin, representatives of the OSCE and JCCC came under sniper fire in the Donetsk region village Kominternovo.

Observers have already left the village, according local media citing a source in the self-proclaimed republic's security forces.
