MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Over 250 flood alerts have been issued across the United Kingdom, with nine severe warnings in place for Lancashire and Yorkshire, the BBC broadcaster reported.
Police have reportedly issued red weather warnings for rain in the two counties. Almost a month's rainfall is expected to fall in the area by Sunday, according to the media.
Northern England is currently preparing for Storm Eva to hit the region.
Torrential rain and strong winds have caused widespread flooding and power cuts affecting tens of thousands of homes in the past month.
