According to the BBC, northern England is now expecting Storm Eva to hit after it affected over 2,000 homes in Ireland. Some 40 bridges and roads have been closed in the region, and around 30 flood warnings have been issued.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The UK government's civil emergency committee, COBRA, will meet later Friday to discuss the situation in Cumbria, North West England as more rains may contribute to large-scale floods in the region, local media reported.

Earlier this month, Storm Desmond brought record amounts of rain to Cumbria, bringing several bouts of floods to the region.

Hundreds of families were evacuated and a man died as Storm Desmond lashed over northern Britain and parts of Scotland on December 5 and 6. Torrential rain and strong winds have caused widespread flooding and power cuts to tens of thousands of homes.
