LONDON (Sputnik) — British Prime Minister David Cameron sympathizes with all those who lose their jobs, including FC Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, and recommends such people to turn to large number of vacancies in the country, a spokesman for the politician said Thursday.
Earlier in the day, Mourinho was sacked by the club amid team's weak performance this season just seven months after Chelsea led by the Portuguese specialist won the last national title.
“The Prime Minister is always sad to see anyone lose their job, but it’s worth reflecting on this week’s labour market statistics, which demonstrated that there are over 740,000 vacancies in the UK economy, thanks to the excellent stewardship of the economy,” the spokesman said.
After 16 Premier League games, Chelsea ranks 16th among 20 clubs standing just one point above the relegation zone and having lost nine games.
