MOSCOW (Sputnik) – US Vice President Joe Biden’s speech before the Ukrainian Parliament reflects US interests in keeping Kiev in reins in order to pressure Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday.
“So when Joe Biden goes there in such a propagandistic intoxication and fires the public up from the tribune, announcing that we won’t back down from the necessity of Russia to fulfill all of the demands and everyone gives a thunder of applause, I don’t think that this is a contribution to solving the Ukrainian crisis. This shows that the United States is interested in keeping Ukraine in reins and not for Ukraine, but in order to pressure Russia,” Lavrov said during an interview with Italian news agencies.
