Investigators Identify Third Paris Bataclan Massacre Perpetrator

The third perpetrator of the November 13 Bataclan theater massacre in Paris has been identified by investigators, local media reported Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The third Bataclan gunman has been identified by French forensic police as Foued Mohamed-Aggad, a 23-year-old resident of Meinau, a district of the French city of Strasbourg, according to Le Parisien newspaper.

Coming from a family of Moroccan origin, Aggad traveled to Syria in late 2013 along with his older brother Karim and eight other Meinau residents, the newspaper said. Aggad's brother was reportedly detained in Syria, while seven other returned to France in 2014.

Aggad is the last perpetrator of the terrorist attacks to be identified by the forensics team due to the condition of his remains. Two others were earlier identified as Samy Amimour, who had fought in Yemen, and Omar Ismail Mostefai, who fought in Syria in 2013. Both were residents of the greater Paris area.

A total of 130 people were killed and over 350 injured in the November attacks on the Bataclan theater, the Stade de France, and a number of restaurants in the French capital. Islamic State (Daesh in Arabic), which is outlawed in Russia and many other countries, claimed responsibility for the attack.
