BERLIN (Sputnik) — Hearings are scheduled for March 1, 2 and 3, 2016.

The decision to hear the case was taken after a motion by Bundesrat, a legislative body that represents all 16 German states, which said that the party infringed on the national constitution.

The German government last attempted to ban the nationalist party in 2001, but the country’s top court closed the case.
