MOSCOW (Sputnik), Alexander Mosesov — Earlier on Monday, the passenger aircraft flying from Berlin to Hurghada, Egypt, was redirected to Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest following receipt of a bomb threat.
"Following the landing, the bomb disposal technicians of the Rapid Response Police Unit started to examine the isolated airplane, the passengers and their luggage. They ended the examination, in the course of which no explosives or detonating device were found," the spokesperson said.
This incident comes just over a month after a Russian Kogalymavia-operated A321 airliner, carrying 224 people, crashed on October 31 in the Sinai Peninsula en route from Egypt's Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg, leaving no survivors. The Russian Federal Security Service later confirmed that the plane crash was caused by a terrorist attack.
