President of France Francois Hollande has gained the highest popularity rating over the last three years following the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, according to a poll released Tuesday.

PARIS (Sputnik) — The poll conducted by Ipsos research company at request of Le Point magazine revealed that the French have highly appreciated Hollande's activity, who strongly reacted to the Paris tragedy, having declared war to the Islamic State terrorist group.

The Islamic State jihadist group has claimed responsibility for the November 13 coordinated mass shootings and suicide bombings near a football stadium, in a concert hall and outside several restaurants in Paris that left 130 dead and over 360 injured.

Hollande imposed a nationwide state of emergency following the attacks. The alleged ringleader of the Paris attacks, Belgium-based Abdelhamid Abaaoud, was killed in a police raid in Paris on Wednesday.
