The #BrusselsLockdown social media request for silence got an unexpected response as Belgians posted an enormous number of photos and gifs of hilarious cats. People turned out to be not only fearless in face of terrorists but also demonstrated a good sense of humor.

The prosecutor's office reported that the police detained 16 suspects during anti-terror raids in Brussels, but the main suspect in Paris attacks Salah Abdelslam was not among them.
