The Lithuanian police is looking for a man in Vilnius who escaped from arrest having grabbed an assault rifle from a law enforcement officer, local media reported Thursday.

RIGA (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, the 24-year-old suspect was detained on unspecified charges to be put under administrative arrest, the Delfi news portal reported. The suspect who managed to escape with the gun reportedly has mental disabilities.

Reinforced police squads are operating in the area of the capital city where the incident happened, according to the media outlet.
