French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve confirmed that twenty-eight-year-old Belgian militant Abdelhamid Abaaoud was the alleged mastermind of the Paris terrorist acts.

Abdelhamid Abaaoud, regarded as the Paris attacks orchestrator, was killed during a police raid in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis, the French prosecutor said Thursday.

"Abdelhamid Abaaoud played a crucial role in the terrorist attacks that rocked Paris on November 13," the French interior minister said at a press conference aired by BFMTV television on Thursday.

The French interior minister said that killed terrorist Abaaoud may have been behind 4 or 6 foiled attacks since spring.

"Out of six terrorist attacks that have been foiled by the French secret services in the spring of 2015, Abaaoud could have been involved in four."

On November 13, in a series of coordinated attacks at various locations in the French capital, extremists killed 129 people and injured 350, many critically.

Europe must act fast after violence in Paris, the minister said.

According to Cazeneuve, the terrorist may also be related to the attack on the passenger high-speed train Thalys en route from Amsterdam to Paris which occurred on August 21, injuring three people.
