MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US Secretary of State John Kerry said Saturday there were US citizens among those killed in the terrorist attacks in Paris overnight.
"We are aware that there were Americans among the deceased, and we will provide any necessary assistance," Kerry said in French during Syrian peace talks in Vienna.
The top US diplomat added he met with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius earlier in the day, where he again offered Paris help.
On Saturday, State Department spokesperson Mark Toner said Washington was aware that there were Americans among the injured, and was working closely with French authorities to identify them.
A string of terror attacks in seven different locations in Paris claimed the lives of 127 people, according to official estimates.
