MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Cartoons of the Russian A321 plane crash published by French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo are inappropriate, Vice President of France’s right-wing National Front party Florian Philippot told Sputnik Friday.

In its latest issue, the notorious magazine published two cartoons of the largest civil aviation catastrophe in Russian and Soviet history.

"Obviously, it is inappropriate and it is easy to understand Russia’s reaction," Philippot said.

According to Philippot, most caricatures by Charlie Hebdo are tasteless but are "a part of freedom of expression." National Front has also become the magazine's victim, he added.

On October 31, the Airbus A321 crashed en route from the Egyptian resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh to the Russian city of St. Petersburg. All 224 people on board, including 25 children, were killed.
