LONDON (Sputnik) – Several thousand students rallied in the British capital against rising education costs, and called for a rejection of tuition fees and an end to student debt.
"We’re witnessing some really chaotic scenes here in the heart of central London," a Sky News correspondent reported from the site of the incident, assessing police numbers at around 2,000.
The most large-scale scuffles have been observed near the Victoria underground station, with footage depicting "angry" violence outside the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills building.
The broadcaster reported that several demonstrators broke through a police cordon, running down Victoria Street, cheering and waving flags.
