BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – Belgian police patrols detained 352 undocumented migrants and two human traffickers in the last two weeks, Belgian Interior Minister Jan Jambon said Thursday.

In September, Belgian police launched a series of raids to tackle smuggling networks on the territory of the kingdom. Law enforcement officers have carried out checks of passengers of road transport that crosses the country’s borders as well as people at railway stations and airports.

Undocumented migrants, when revealed, have their fingerprints scanned. The dactyloscopy results are sent to a special police unit that later store data in a special data bank.
