UK Citizens Split on Brexit
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Open Europe gathered and analyzed statements, voting records and other information to determine 330 Conservative lawmakers' stances on a so-called "Brexit."

The research shows that 22 lawmakers are firmly against the country's membership in the European Union. While an additional 47 members of parliament would support Brexit if the terms of the London's relationship with Brussels could not be significantly revised.

There is a group of 14 lawmakers who strongly support the United Kingdom retaining its membership in the European Union, while 44 other parliamentarians are leaning toward staying in the bloc.

At the same time 203 parliamentarians are described in the report as swing voters who could vote either way on Brexit or EU membership.

British Prime Minister David Cameron has pledged to hold a so-called Brexit referendum by the end of 2017. Prior to the vote, Cameron is seeking to revise the terms of Britain’s EU membership, including greater autonomy in defining national immigration policy.
