MOSCOW (Sputnik) – A Russian journalist from international information agency Rossiya Segodnya was denied entry to Estonia on Monday, the Russian Embassy in Tallinn said, calling the incident an attack on freedom of speech.
"Half an hour ago, the Estonian border service banned Rossiya Segodnya’s Multimedia Programs Director Marina Perekryostova from entering the country after she landed in Tallinn." the embassy said on its Facebook page.
The Russian embassy added it regarded Estonia’s ban on the journalist as "an attempt of limiting freedom of speech, using double standards against undesirable media and denying Estonians access to non-mainstream viewpoints."
In June, Perekrestova was the subject of unethical actions by Estonian border guards, who handed over information about her entry into the country to local media.
