CHISINAU (Sputnik) — Moldova will not abandon its policy of integration with the European Union, Moldovan Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu said Thursday.
“The association agreement with the European Union and its implementation is the overriding priority for our foreign and domestic policy.”
He added that the EU could help Moldovan authorities improve living conditions for the country’s citizens and enhance its anti-corruption legislation.
Moldova signed a European Union Association Agreement in June 2014 for further economic and political integration with the bloc.
March organizers called for the chief prosecutor to resign and criticized the country’s officials for their divergence from integration with the European Union.
