Hungary closed its M5 highway, connecting the southern part of the country and Budapest, after some 400 migrants broke through a police cordon near the border with Serbia, local media reported on Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the local Delmagyar news website, the migrants evaded a collection point at the village of Roszke, taking advantage of lax policing. Some 300 of them set off toward the M5 in the direction of Budapest where they were blocked by police.

Others are reportedly heading towards the city of Szeged, using a secondary road.

On Tuesday, over 100 migrants escaped from a refugee camp at Roszke. Last week, some 300 migrants broke out of the Rozske camp but police later apprehended them.
