MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Poland approved a €100-million ($112 million) loan to Ukraine, a statement on the government’s website said.
"Polish government decided that it would give Ukraine 100 million loan to finance exports of goods and services from Poland to Ukraine, including the modernization of road infrastructure and the construction limits of the Ukrainian-Polish border crossings," the Monday statement said.
Ukraine increasingly relies on external funding to reanimate its stagnant economy amid a deep recession and high inflation in the country.
In March, the IMF approved a four-year $17.5-billion assistance package to Ukraine to put its ailing economy on the path toward recovery by encouraging a series of reforms. An additional tranche worth $1.7 billion was approved by the IMF in July.
