France is not ready for hosting more refugees from Middle East countries as French citizens tend to associate Islamization, crime and economic problems with foreigners, a lawmaker said to Sputnik.

“Common people in France do not think that their country should continue hosting refugees because of a policy failure to balance immigration in terms of promoting diversity and integration into the society,“ Nicolas Dhuicq said adding that the French do not want to tolerate the fact that migrants who cross into France are imposing on Europe their own traditions and religious beliefs.

He stressed that the majority of refugees struggling to get into Europe flee the countries with a predominantly Muslim population, which makes the fear of Islamization in EU member states more real.

Anti-Islamization has been on the rise throughout Europe in recent months amid a string of Islamist terrorist attacks in EU member states and reports confirming that among migrants arriving to Europe many have links to terrorist organizations including ISIL and the Nusra Front.
