Barclays Declares Rossiya Segodnya London Bureau Bank Account ‘Frozen’
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — "While considering Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency’s application and the documents attached to it, it was discovered that they do not comply with the Latvian Constitution as well as a number of regulations," Latvia's Register of Enterprises told RIA Novosti.

Latvia received Rossiya Segodnya’s application on April 29.

In July, the British multinational Barclays Bank briefly closed the news agency’s accounts in London, only to later to reclassify them as frozen.

A source in UK banking circles indicated that Barclays had acted in accordance to a UK regulation on financial sanctions imposed by the European Union on Rossiya Segodnya General Director Dmitry Kiselev in relation to the Ukrainian conflict.
