MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the BBC, the strike action is part of the Public and Commercial Services Union campaign over the removal of allowances, which the union says could reduce workers’ pay by $3135-$4702. The campaign is now in its 18th month.
"NMS [National Museums Scotland] management arbitrarily removed the allowance for all staff employed after January 2011. A two tier workforce now exists in the museum," the union said in a statement.
As many as 120 workers are due to strike, according to the union.
