Europe's Biggest Science Museum Goes up in Flames

A fire that broke out overnight at the Museum of Science and Industry in Paris threatens to engulf 10,000 square meters of the museum.

Firefighters who arrived at Paris's Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie on Thursday morning were struggling to control a huge blaze that is threatening 10,000 square meters of the museum's territory.

According to reports, around 30 fire trucks and 120 firefighters were tackling the blaze, which affects six floors of the museum.

Two firefighters have reportedly sustained injuries due to smoke inhalation.

'The museum is closed today due to exceptional circumstances, thank you for your understanding.'

The blaze began at the before dawn on Thursday at the museum, the biggest in Europe devoted to science, which is located in the northeast of Paris and receives around 5 million visitors each year.
