Duda said that in order to resolve the crisis in eastern Ukraine, a new format for discussions should be considered. The upgraded format should make provision for bringing in stronger European states along with Ukraine's neighboring countries, including Poland.
"Long peace can only be provided by a broad peaceful conference," Duda said earlier in an interview carried by state agency PAP.
He also made it clear that Poland would like to avoid bad relations with any of its neighbors, and Russia is no exception.
"The situation is really difficult. And we would never go to the worsening of relations deliberately," he said.
Duda stressed that he is eager to discuss this resolution of the Donbas conflict in detail with Poroshenko during the upcoming meeting of the heads of state.
Despite the fact that ceasefire was agreed on by leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France in Minsk on February 12, fighting hasn't completely stopped.
