MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Recent statements that the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe has “discovered” a man claiming to be a Russian soldier in eastern Ukraine needs to be thoroughly examined since similar statements from other official sources in the past have not pointed to any specific details, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday.
“The reliability of these statements needs to be checked,” Peskov told journalists.
He said after such accusations surfaced in the past, but have not been followed up with specific details.
“What’s most important is figuring out what’s being talked about because we know that oral accusations in regard to this have been said a number of times from various official sources and each time after checking, there was nothing concrete in what was being said. So, I don’t know how the situation will be this time with these statements,” Peskov said.
He added that this particular topic should be directed to the Russian Defense Ministry.
