Swedish police made a staggering discovery of 1,200 pounds of dynamite on two private properties and in a car near the western coastal town of Falkenberg, media reported Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Speaking with the Local news website, police inspector Tommy Nyman said the discovery was made last week and had led to two arrests. The men, 30 and 41, appeared on Tuesday in a local court on charges of illegal possession of explosives.

Nyman said a stash of explosives this big was "a very unusual find," according to the Local.

Police stumbled upon a stash of 330 pounds of dynamite when they searched a property for drugs, he told the outlet.

The officer refused to comment on Swedish media reports that claimed the two suspects had links to far-right groups.
