An Islamic activist described in the UK press as 'despising Britain' and teaching pro-ISIS rhetoric has accused a journalist writing for the Telegraph newspaper of "baiting Muslims who are vocal about their beliefs."

Following claims from an 'anonymous' source, Abdullah al Andalusi has been accused of leading a double life in an article written for the Telegraph. The article says:

"By night, he taught that the terror group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) was 'no different to Western armies,' said that 'kaffirs,' non-Muslims, would be 'punished in hell' and claimed that the British government wanted to destroy Islam."

"By day, using a different name, he went to work for the same British government at the London offices of Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC), the official regulator of all 44 forces in England, Wales and Northern Ireland."

Refuting the claim that he 'despised Britain' al Andalusi posted a response to the article on his website: "Sure, I criticize the government, and talk about the West, but discussing politicians and ruling elites is different from talking about the land, culture and the people. The British people are humans, like me, whom I grew up amongst and experienced much goodness, love and warmth, I have no enmity to the people – quite the contrary."

"I have written extensively about the injustice of the UK government’s arbitrary and vague definition of 'extremism' (the modern word for 'heretic') and their dictating to a minority religious group, what is or isn’t acceptable theology for them to hold – all this from a supposedly Secular government! I guess Secularism doesn’t 'protect' after all."

Meanwhile it’s reported that MPs have called for a full investigation into how he passed vetting checks and was appointed to his post at HMIC. Mr al Andalusi was known to HMIC as Mouloud Farid.

A spokesman for HMIC said: "Mr Farid was investigated for gross misconduct by taking part in public activity that compromised his impartial service to government, thereby breaching the Civil Service Code. He was suspended immediately whilst investigations were ongoing."

According to the Telegraph: "The disclosures will be intensely embarrassing to the Prime Minister, David Cameron, who has criticized parts of Britain’s Muslim communities for "quietly condoning" Islamist extremism.

Education & Extremism: Unis Should Encourage, Not Suppress Radicalization

The British government’s Prevent program, set up to prevent terrorism and radicalization in the UK has been accused of failing, instead alienating Muslim communities in Britain further.

According to the Islamic Human Rights Commission, "Prevent has not succeeded in stanching terrorism. Reports have concluded that the Prevent regime of attempting to stop young Muslims from being radicalized is not working and is simply alienating Muslims in Britain by serving as a cover for intelligence gathering on the community."

Also in agreement that the British government’s Prevent program is failing is former head of MI5, Baroness Manningham Buller, who told the House of Lords that it’s "clearly not working," citing the decision by over 600 young Britain’s to travel to Iraq and Syria to join Islamic State militants as evidence enough of its failure.
