Brussels Street Shut Down, Local Residents Evacuated in Bomb Threat
10:19 GMT 29.06.2015 (Updated: 10:39 GMT 29.06.2015) Belgian police on Monday have shut down traffic on a Brussels street and evacuated people from nearby buildings, following a bomb threat, a police representative told a local broadcaster.
BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – Police received a bomb threat in the Berchem-Sainte-Agathe region earlier in the day, according to RTL radio.
"The buildings along the street were evacuated while waiting for the sniffer dogs," a local police representative told the radio.
In February, a bomb threat in the city triggered the evacuation of the European Parliament.
The country has been on high alert after January anti-terror police raids, which resulted in multiple arrests.
