On Tuesday, Lancashire activists held protests outside the Lancashire County Council's County Hall, where the consideration of the Little Plumpton bid began.

Fracking was temporarily banned in the United Kingdom in 2011 after it was reported to have caused underground tremors in Blackpool, Lancashire's coastal town. The ban was lifted a year later.
