German Foreign Minister commented on the crisis in Ukraine’s eastern Donbass region, calling for more to be done to bring the situation under control.

BERLIN (Sputnik) The crisis in Ukraine’s eastern Donbass region is still a real issue, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said Tuesday, calling on both sides of the conflict to work toward its resolution.

“The agreed ceasefire is violated every day, even more than a few weeks ago. The severe crisis in eastern Ukraine is far from over,” Steinmeier said in a statement.

“All conflicting parties must make an effort to prevent the military escalation from reaching a level where the situation spirals out of control, militarily and then politically,” the minister added.
