After Minsk: Will Peace Come to Ukraine? (1049)

Members of Ukraine's notorious ultra-nationalist militia, the Azov Regiment, claimed they would teach the Americans how to fight after US Congress voted against providing training to the unit on grounds that its fighters held neo-Nazi beliefs.

“F**k them! We can teach anyone ourselves now… We’ve learned to fight well over this past year,” an Azov soldier told the Kiev-based Vesti newspaper on Sunday.

“All we need from them is arms and ammunition… I’m fighting not because I’m an “ultras” or “Nazi”, I’m fighting for my country and I’m not going home until I have wasted the last remaining separatist fighting there,” he added.

During the June 11 discussion of defense appropriations for this year the US House of Representatives approved bipartisan amendments to block the training of the Azov Regiment, which some of the Congressmen described as “repulsive neo-Nazis”.
