Finland's Opposition Party 'Center' Wins Parliament Election

Finland's Center Party wins the parliamentary elections with 21.1 percent of votes gaining 49 seats in parliament after all votes were counted on Sunday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Finns Party, formerly known as True Finns, runs second with 17.6 percent of votes and 38 seats in parliament. The ruling Coalition Party won 18.1 percent of votes and 37 seats. The Social Democratic Party of Finland won 16.5 percent of the vote and 34 seats in parliament.

The data was provided by the parliamentary elections' press center after 100 percent of votes were counted. The organizers, however, said the data is preliminary.

On Sunday, the parliament election took place in Finland. A total of 200 legislators were elected out of nearly 2,000 candidates.

According to the national broadcaster Yle, the turnout at the election was 70 percent.
