Spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Yevhen Perebiynis said that aid convoys to Ukraine should undergo a proper processing procedure at the checkpoints controlled by Kiev.

"With regard to [the information] received from the Russian side on March 30, about its intention to carry out the delivery of the next so-called humanitarian aid to Donetsk and Lugansk regions on April 2, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially submitted a requirement to refrain from this step," Perebiynis said.

He noted that humanitarian convoys to Ukraine should be properly processed at the checkpoints controlled by Kiev. The Ministry also demanded that the Russian side “stop violating the sovereignty of Ukraine under the guise of the so-called humanitarian aid."

Since mid-August 2014, Russia delivered more than 25,000 tons of humanitarian aid to Lugansk and Donetsk. Over this period of time, 21 humanitarian convoys were sent to the southeastern regions of the country.
