Gunfire was heard in front the police headquarters in Istanbul on Wednesday when two armed people — a man and a woman — tried to attack the office. The Turkish security forces opened fire in response. At least one person is confirmed dead.

One assailant, who is believed to be the suicide bomber, was killed on the spot. Other assailant was wounded, tried to flee the scene, but was detained by the police.

One policeman was wounded in the incident, he was taken to the hospital.
