Two gunmen who stormed the office of Turkey's ruling party in Istanbul on Wednesday have been taken into custody, the Daily Sabah newspaper reported.

Earlier in the day two armed men entered an office of Turkish ruling AK party in Istanbul, local media report.

This happened just a day after a hostage drama has ended in Turkey with death of Mehmet Selim Kiraz, an Istanbul prosecutor, who investigated the death of a teenager hit on the head by police during anti-government protests in 2013.

The gunmen did not take any hostages but made everybody inside leave the building.

Police cordoned off the area as the gunmen broke a window and hung out a Turkish flag, while also shouting anti-government slogans, according to earlier reports.

Turkish special forces have entered the office of ruling AK Party and detained two gunmen.
