A downed power line caused a blackout in parts of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic, causing the area to lose cell phone service and limiting power supplies.

High winds caused a power outage in Lugansk, as well as the nearby towns of Alchevsk and Stakhanov on Saturday night, the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic's administration announced.

A power line was downed following a storm at around 10 p.m. on Saturday, which has also caused the area to lose cell phone service and water supplies are limited. An emergency response center has been formed, and crews are working to find and repair the site of the downed power line.
