The ambassador cited a statement of the first German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck, who was convinced that the German policy can be successful only with Russia, not without or against it.  "And it is also true now," the diplomat said.

According to him, a sudden collapse in relations between Russia and Germany, which took place last year, arose from the fact that countries have different perceptions of the international events over the past 25 years.

"We look at things differently, but for mutual understanding it is always important to know vision of the others," von Fritsch said.

The diplomat also added that Western countries would never forgive Russia’s position with regard to Crimea, but sooner or later, economic sanctions against Russia will be lifted.
