The warning, citing a recent string of attacks carried out against Jews in Belgium, Denmark, France, and in Africa, notes that European militants returning from ISIL-controlled territories, as well as home-grown extremists, may seek to carry out the attacks.

The advisory notes that the spring holidays, including Passover, Independence Day (May 6) and Lag B'Omer (May 6-7) would be periods of heightened risk.

The advisory also says that the issued travel alerts are based on "solid and reliable information, which reflect tangible threats, and which are based on the intelligence picture for the given period."

US Anti-Semitism Monitor to Visit Sweden as Fear Amongst Jews Increases
European Jews have reported increasing concerns over their safety following a string of attacks earlier this year in France and Denmark. Last month, a senior Jewish leader in Germany warned Jews not to wear skullcaps in areas with large Muslim populations. Meanwhile, in France, President Francois Hollande outlined a series of initiatives aimed at combating anti-Semitism. Earlier this month, a US special envoy traveled to Sweden amid heightened safety concerns for Jewish communities in the country.
