Norway Defense Minister Urges Deterring Hybrid Warfare Threat
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Norway is determined not to send any weapons to Ukraine, Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg said Wednesday.

“Norway has clear rules concerning weapons. We are committed to the conflict being resolved not with weapons, but with negotiations and diplomacy,” Solberg told the VG newspaper.

The US Congress recently pushed to provide weapons to Kiev-led forces, which have been fighting independence supporters in Ukraine’s southeast since April last year. US President Barack Obama has yet to make a decision on the issue.

Poland Admits Possibility of Supplying Ukraine With Weapons
Meanwhile, a number of European countries have rejected the proposal, saying that an influx of weapons into the conflict-torn country would not help solve the crisis.

The Norwegian prime minister’s statements follow similar remarks made by German Chancellor Angela Merkel last week. Countries including France, Italy, Spain and Finland have also rejected providing Ukraine with lethal assistance.
