PARIS (Sputnik) — French President Francois Hollande condemned on Tuesday an attack on three soldiers, patrolling a Jewish community center in southern France.
"The President of the [French] Republic strongly condemns the attack committed today on three soldiers of the 54th Artillery Regiment, who were on guard in front of a Jewish cultural center in Nice in the framework of the Vigipirate plan to combat terrorism," the French President's press release read.
The attacker was arrested the same day, according to local media reports.
The incident took place nearly a month after a deadly terrorist attack on a kosher food shop in Paris that claimed the lives of four people.
In early January, France launched counter-terrorism activities, following a series of terrorist attacks across the Paris region.
