Videos, depicting uniformed men fluently speaking English, sparked suggestions that foreign combatants might have been involved in the recent shelling attack on the city.

Missile Attack on Mariupol Result of Kiev Blunder, Says Donetsk Militia
MOSCOW, January 26 (Sputnik) — Uniformed armed men speaking fluent English appeared in videos, one of which was recorded by Ukrainian journalists following Saturday’s shelling attack, raising questions about the alleged involvement of foreign military contractors in the Ukrainian conflict.

The heavy shelling attack took place in Mariupol, a city located in southeastern Ukraine, on Saturday. The city was attacked with Grad and Uragan multiple-rocket launchers, with Kiev troops and the Donbas militia trading blame for the incident. The attack claimed lives of 30 civilians.

The first man, accidently recorded on the video by the Mariupol News Service, refused to comment on the correspondent’s question and quickly went away with the words “Outta my face, outta my face, please.”

The other video depicts a uniformed man scouting the area for unexploded ordnance. The operator, holding the camera speaks English with accent, but the man on the video seems to be a native speaker.

In September 2014, the conflicting parties reached a ceasefire agreement in Minsk. However, violence came up to a head in January, with both parties blaming each other for violating the truce.
