@KensingtonRoyal Twitter and Instagram accounts let royal subjects and other fans keep up to date on the activities of the residents of Kensington Palace.

MOSCOW, January 15 (Sputnik) – Kensington Palace launched a new Twitter account on Wednesday, which provides the latest news from its residents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

The account states that it will carry updates, pictures and videos from Kensington Palace about the royals and the Royal Foundation that they jointly established in 2009, and through which they undertake philanthropic work to support service people of the armed forces, young people and conservation projects.

Tweets posted thus far give details of a visit by Prince Harry to a graduation ceremony for apprentices taking part in the Foundation's Coachcore project, which aims to improve the quality and availability of sports coaching and mentoring in inner city schools. On Thursday the Palace tweeted that the Duchess of Cambridge is to take part in the opening of an Art Room at a primary school in London, in conjunction with the Art Room charity for children with emotional and behavioral difficulties.

Kensington Palace joins other royal palaces in keeping followers updated by Twitter. An account from @ClarenceHouse gives updates on the activities of the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, while the @BritishMonarchy feed informs followers about the work and activities of the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh and other members of the royal family.

@KensingtonRoyal on Thursday also alerted fans to the existence of its new Instagram account, where people can see "the latest behind the scenes photos" taken at royal engagements.
