MOSCOW, January 9 (Sputnik) –The European Union will hold an anti-terrorism summit on February 12, European Council President Donald Tusk announced Friday.
"EU can help strengthen our security. Agreed with [French] President @fhollande [Francois Hollande] yesterday February #EUCO [European Council] will discuss EU response to these challenges," Tusk posted to his Twitter account.
French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve stated earlier that French authorities would hold an international conference on combating terrorism coming Sunday with representatives from Europe and the United States expected to participate.
The statement came after the Wednesday attack on the magazine Charlie Hebdo by Islamic extremists, that claimed the lives of 12 people and injured 11.
