A Scottish patient with the Ebola virus was transferred to a London hospital Tuesday, Sky News reported.

MOSCOW, December 30 (Sputnik) — The broadcaster said she was placed in an infectious disease unit at the Royal Free Hospital, where William Pooley, a male British nurse who contracted the virus, was previously treated, Sky News reported.

Reports of the woman having contracted the virus came out Monday after she returned Sunday from Sierra Leone, where she was working as a nurse. Before being moved to London for treatment, she was at Glasgow's Gartnavel Hospital.

The nurse, whose name was not announced, arrived in Scotland from the West African country via Casablanca and London.

Sky News also reported that another health care worker is currently being tested in Scotland for the Ebola virus, though it said the person is believed to be "at low risk."

The current outbreak of the Ebola virus started in Guinea in December 2013, reaching Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Senegal in the first few months of 2014. Some Ebola cases have been reported outside of West Africa, including in the United States.

According to the latest World Health Organization (WHO) estimates, as many as 7,842 people have died from the virus so far.
