Humanitarian Convoy in Donbas Unloaded, Heads Back to Russia: Ministry
ROSTOV-ON-DON, November 30 (Sputnik) — Trucks of the Russian humanitarian convoy that delivered aid to Donetsk have returned to the Rostov Region, deputy head of the crisis management center with the Russian Emergencies Ministry Oleg Voronov said Sunday.

"Trucks from the convoy of the Russian Emergencies Ministry that delivered humanitarian aid to Donetsk have returned to the Rostov Region unloaded. The drivers feel good, and the equipment is in working order. There have been no incidents on their way back," Voronov told reporters.

According to Voronov, trucks that delivered humanitarian aid to Luhansk are now on the way back to Russia.

On Sunday, more than 60 trucks supplied Donetsk with over 800 tons of humanitarian aid, while over 40 trucks delivered more than 400 tons of humanitarian cargo to Luhansk.

Russia Will Aid Eastern Ukraine for as Long as Needed: Emergencies Ministry
The humanitarian convoy was carrying mainly construction materials, as well as food and medications. The delivery of the cargo was complicated by bad weather conditions, snowstorms and icing of the road.

Following a February coup in Kiev, residents of Donetsk and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine established people's republics that later declared independence. An armed conflict started in eastern Ukraine in mid-April, when Kiev launched a military operation against independence supporters there, which led to a desperate humanitarian situation in the region.

From mid-August Russia has been sending humanitarian aid convoys to help the residents of the Donbas cope with the critical humanitarian situation.
